The Terminal Services and Appearance Manager plans, manages, supervises, organizes, directs, schedules, assigns and monitors the work of custodial crews involved in all aspects of airport and terminal systems cleaning for a 24/7 365 days per year operation, including:
  • Providing direction, management oversight, and motivational support to custodial personnel, including developing an empowering team environment that creates a culture of inclusive cooperation and collaboration and fosters growth and professional development
  • Setting effective long and short-term goals and establishing realistic priorities within available resources based on a solid understanding of management best practices
  • Preparing and assigning shift schedules, daily priorities, maintains an inventory of supplies and equipment, and procures cleaning materials by making inquiries with vendors
  • Scheduling, training, monitoring, and evaluating custodial crews
  • Ensuring tasks assigned to staff are performed correctly, efficiently, safely, and effectively
  • Ensuring operational compliance with all appropriate laws and policies, including OSHA safety practices and procedures and that staff perform duties and responsibilities in a safe and prudent manner
  • Managing custodial contracts as well as developing, scheduling, and maintaining preventative maintenance of custodial equipment
  • Responsible for managing custodial operations budget, which includes maintaining staffing levels and managing overtime in accordance with organizational requirements
  • Directing the snow removal of sidewalks and landside areas
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with associates, representatives of airlines, concessionaires and tenants
  • Maintaining manual and computerized records
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to successfully complete a 7-year Pre-employment Background Investigation, inclusive of motor vehicle record check, and the 10-year Criminal History Background Check (CHRC) necessary to obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances required to work at an airport
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in technical work overseeing the daily activities of staff
  • Must have proven ability to maintain relationships and interact effectively with the public, customers, supervisors and technicians, including leveraging conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated skill in the care and use of pertinent tools and equipment
  • Prior experience in custodial operations or facilities maintenance preferred
  • Experience in an airport environment preferred
  • Contract management experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and safety requirements preferred

Starting salary of $85,000 per year, depending on experience.

The Manager of Training – Compliance and Standardization manages, oversees, directs, and leads in the development of structure, systems, training, and processes to foster the growth of the Gallatin Airport Authority (GAA) employees. Develops, manages, organizes, coordinates, and implements learning and development resources in an airport authority environment. Curates, systematizes, and administers standardized learning content, skill competency requirements, and training programs consistent with compliance requirements throughout the organization. Partners with GAA’s Badging office to ensure airport-wide compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Develops, manages, and coordinates learning and evaluation tools, methodologies, processes, and programs to facilitate building and developing employees across all facets of the organization.
  • Identifies and assesses development needs of employees and drives standardization and training initiatives that meet the objectives and requirements of the GAA and regulatory agencies.
  • In partnership with management, stakeholders, and subject matter experts (SMEs), coordinates planning, administration, and implementation of training and development programs in support of business, regulatory, compliance, and safety requirements; curates and documents standardized learning content that is consistent with those requirements and standards throughout the organization.
  • Provides thought leadership and guidance on initiatives across the organization; researches and incorporates best practices for developing strategic learning and development plans and conducts development needs assessment to enhance the effectiveness of employee performance in achieving the GAA's goals, objectives, and compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Partners with department leaders and HR to assist with evaluating, developing, and implementing learning and development programs for assigned departments (e.g., Airport Operations Department).
  • Serves as technical and instructional subject matter expert (SME) for Learning and Development best practices.
  • Schedules and conducts initial training, recurrent/refresher training, and other trainings as needed and ensures program alignment with GAA strategic objectives and compliance responsibilities (e.g., FAA, FEMA, TSA).
  • Consults with management and HR to identify performance, organizational, and leadership development needs: creates performance measures in support of learning and development strategic plans. Evaluates effectiveness of training through performance metrics. Administers and manages training data systems and data for reporting purposes.
  • Partners with internal SMEs and/or external vendors to achieve defined training, learning, and development objectives.
  • Actively searches for, creatively designs, and implements effective methods, learning programs, and resources to educate and enhance employee performance and compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Develops learning resources to assist in the employees’ transfer of learning back on the job and assesses effectiveness; establishes short-, mid- and long-term goals and objectives; develop and approve schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals, and direct evaluation activities of staff.
  • Maintains high quality standards in instructional design and development for all methods of program delivery.
  • Maintains current knowledge of federal and state aviation regulations (e.g., FAA Part 139), airport industry trends, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Develops and implements an effective communication strategy for learning and development programs.
  • May liaise with federal, state and local agencies.
  • May assist with snow removal and Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) and related exercises.
  • Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.
 
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred in learning management, training and development, education, instructional design, or other related fields preferred
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to successfully complete a 7-year Pre-employment Background Investigation, inclusive of motor vehicle record check, and the 10-year Criminal History Background Check (CHRC) necessary to obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances required to work at an airport
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in technical work overseeing the daily activities of staff
  • Must have proven ability to maintain effective working relationships
  • Prior experience in training and development
  • Knowledge of instructional design theory and learning principles
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally, through formal presentations and in writing
  • Ability to use MS Office Suite and Learning Management Systems
  • Ability to apply project management and process improvement principles to address and solve operational problems or other identified issues
  • Instructional/curriculum design or related experience preferred
  • Experience in an aviation industry experience preferred
  • Contract management experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of FAA Part 139 and TSA requirements preferred
  • ARFF experience and ability to be certified preferred
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and safety requirements preferred
  • eLearning design, LMS management, and demonstrated expertise in technical development, implementation and troubleshooting of web-based training modules preferred

Salary Range: $87,000 to $100,000 depending on experience.

The Airport Operations Specialist position performs various duties with established policies and procedures as directed by operational requirements. Position assures continuous safety and security compliance with Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Parts 77 and 139, Transportation Security Regulation (TSR) Part 1542, in addition to all other applicable statutes, regulations, and requirements. Duties include, but are not limited to, airfield inspections, responding to airport alerts in an Operations and ARFF capacity, snow removal, periodic safety and quality control inspection of aviation fuel storage facility and fueling operations, safety and environmental compliance, emergency response, NOTAM management, wildlife management, and other duties as assigned.

The airport operates 24/7 365 days per year and schedules may vary based on business needs. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and require working irregular and rotating schedules.

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Airport or Aviation/Aerospace Management, Aviation/Aerospace Science, Business or Public Administration, or closely related field preferred
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to successfully complete a 7-year Pre-employment Background Investigation, inclusive of motor vehicle record check, and the 10-year Criminal History Background Check (CHRC) necessary to obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances required to work at an airport
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in either: airport operations or administration; or in position with direct aviation relevance such as Fixed Base Operator (FBO), airline, air cargo carrier, airfield maintenance, and/or airport emergency services, possession of a Private Pilot Certificate
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of the position
  • Must be dependable, responsible, and able to work without supervision
  • Must possess excellent customer service, communication, and teamwork skills and perform well under pressure
  • Must be able to read and understand spatial and graphical displays and enter information into hard copy or computer-based logs and records
  • Experience with snow removal equipment in a runway environment preferred
  • ACE Ops Certification or AAAE CM Certification or be able to obtain within 12 months of employment
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions and possess the physical strength, agility and coordination needed for the performance of essential aircraft, rescue, and fire fighting duties
  • ARFF certified or be able to qualify within 6 months of employment for ARFF certification
 
Compensation:
Starting pay rate of $28.00 per-hour depending on experience.

The Airport Custodian maintains premises of the airport in clean and orderly condition including but not limited to cleaning carpets, restrooms, windows, furniture, walls, and equipment. Duties also include trash removal, sweeping sidewalks and parking areas, snow removal from sidewalks in the winter, light grounds keeping in the summer, and other duties as may be assigned. Position involves standing and walking continuously and lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally. The airport operates 24/7 365 days per year and schedules may vary based on business needs. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Available shifts: Wednesday through Saturday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (10 hour shifts) or Wednesday through Saturday, 8:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. (10 hour shifts).

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent 
  • Must be able to successfully complete a 7-year Pre-employment Background Investigation, inclusive of motor vehicle record check, and the 10-year Criminal History Background Check (CHRC) necessary to obtain and maintain a federally mandated security clearances required to work at an airport 
  • Must posses a valid Driver's License 
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of the position
  • Must be dependable, responsible, and able to work without supervision
  • Prior background in and knowledge of custodial work preferred 

Compensation
Starting pay rate of $23.00 per hour.
